Debra I WILL make it to Lisbon again..... I played Seville in the 'guitar legends'' thingie back in 89 or 90... I think Joni Mitchell cancelled and they put me in. It was good music.
I heard the first night at the Iron Horse. You were just fantastic and Mike Dillon, Petra Haden, and Ben Rosenblum were all so tuned in, supportive, present, and fresh in the way they interacted with you and supported you and the songs. Three of us at my table were in tears and couldn't speak at the end of that set. It's partly the history and what the music has meant to us over the years, but even more what you all are doing with the songs in the present. My friend who hadn't heard you live before said it was the best set of this kind he'd ever heard, wildly beyond any expectations, and we were talking later about how we have to remember this is possible when we play music. I'm luckily in Asheville visiting my best friend, the person who taught me to really pay attention to lyrics and songwriters 50+ years ago (coincidentally? the younger sister of your childhood friend Raye), and bringing her to Brevard. We love what you do, every time. Have a great time and tour!
o my gosh ... Raye. I think I was distracted... I am sure i sent a note but can you .. somehow send me Raye's info (again?) and I will be sure to put it in my contacts. Raye. what a legend in my childhood mythology.

Russ Titleman said. the songs are Alive. you guys have reanimated them.... or something. i might have said the reanimated but i got what he meant... They are the ... Realms of the past, whole places in peoples hearts. But played in an ensemble like this they become alive .. anyway. thank you for the note.
i had the great fortune of attending the rochester show. transcendent. fabulous vocals, breathtaking grooves, spirit nourishment of the deepest kind. and medicine for these times. thank you!

Thank you David. That's the philosophy, maybe the two artists have a common ground and their shared audience will enjoy both... sure some folks come late and leave early, that's ok. As long as the bulk of the idea hits its mark. She's a fine singer.
wow well I missed this but hope you enjoyed that show as much as me. I dug the outdoor venue and I just love playing to the larger numbers she and I can do together. the audience at Brevard was fabulous. and I was On. very happy girl.
