I too capture and carry out of doors the insects that don't seem right inside. Even the cockroaches. I capture them, on a counter, on the floor, with a large plastic tumbler, then slide a wide spatula (burger-flipper) underneath, lift the ensemble, and escort them from the building.
I listened to Patti Smith the other day too, and I agree she’s a cool dame. Takes one to know one ☺️.
I joined my sister 👧 a couple Saturdays ago for our protest in Fort Wayne IN. I also went to a town hall meeting for the first time and we could not get one republican congress person to agree to speak for us. How about that. I’m willing to do the work. Your lyrics ring in my head, “tell somebody “🎶. I’m doing that too 🎈. Rickie you don’t know the healing that came to me over the years from your music.
Yes, I love that you mention that she is a healer. I discovered her music as a teenager in the 80s and it spoke to me so deeply that it influenced who I am. I recently read her autobiography and thought, "Ohh, no wonder." Much overlap in our stories. After the devastating result of our recent election it occured to me that our artists will be the keepers of the light during this darkness, much like the tropicalia movement in Brazil. Like you, I am taking action where I can but it is the musicians and authors that sustain my spirit.
I bring spiders outside too, and try to free any moths or flies at a window screen. Looking up at birds and sky is definitely a good thing to do. Still, sometimes I get the Blues sounds like a song to me. I wondered how you did the podcasts. I would have trouble learning how to do that. I really enjoyed your talk with Neko Case. A Quality Dame is a great expression!
Rickie, I loved listening to your three podcasts. There's a lot more than eight of us listening. I've seen you 3 times and would love to see you again but I see there's no Cleveland in your future, darnit.
Loved the podcast. I was exposed to you before Bruce Springsteen, but realised in listening, you turned me on to Bruce Springsteen before I ever heard of him. That probably doesn't make much sense, but please know that people are listening in. Your efforts are appreciated. I get not wanting to put forth the effort but I want you to know that we appreciate it. XOXOXO
Dear Rickie, as always, you have given us much to think about .. it really struck an important chord that one part - “It’s just not the time to be so cool you don’t pay attention” .. willful intent to destroy gets one chance with resistance. If there is none, it’s an easy thing to do. Serial cowardice is not a good choice.
Hugs to you, Dear-Heart, from Estrella y Yo in Minnesota .. where “It Must Always Be Love”.

That's a must read, Rickie's autobiography...
Yes 🙌 our artists have a great part in the whole scheme of events you can say… I am an artist and am trying to do my part in my world 🌎
